I'm quite sure you recall that fun time when you were a kid and played Knock Knock jokes. Always a giggle to figure out where the person is going to go with it, and to have a good laugh. Great game with little kids... My favorite, for the past 25 years or so, has always been to tell someone to "Say Knock Knock". So they do. Then you say "Who's there?" And they completely blank out. Total confusion because they thought it was YOUR turn. Pretty much a lock on getting me to laugh. Usually only works on unsuspecting kids though :)
So the "knock knock" joke tonight is all about where the heck have I been, and where am I? Why am I knocking back on your email/RSS reader with a post after like 6 months of silence?
First, I'm back because I've had just one too many people ask if I'm spending my days selling dog bowls (uh, no). Second, I'm back because of a New Year resolution. Third I'm back because I think I have some intriguing content to share in this most interesting economic time....
In quick succession:
1) The dog bowl business is growing nicely. It's a nice evenings and weekend gig that I share with my kids and wife, and I'm quite pleased with our online sales and our growth. Of course, it could always be better, but in this economy, I'm not complaining. The product is awesome and is dramatically (and positively) impacting dogs and dog owners daily. Someday, someone will wake up and see what they can do with it and buy me out at a fair price for them and me, etc. More on that in a coming post.
2) Yep, I need to blog more. It's a good discipline and it forces me to think through what's churning around in my mind. Sorry I've been gone.
3) This is a unique time in history. There is so much fodder for discussion ranging from our various businesses and license deals to government intervention/bailouts to absolute inanity at corporations.
I have a general rule about short blog posts. So I'll stop here. But I hope to be back in your reader/emailbox soon. Cross your fingers or unsubscribe :)
