Funk Rating: 6.5 out of 10
I used to really enjoy Koontz. Always creative, always pushing the "out there" buttons. And, in his defense, this one is creative in the sense that he takes the big holes and cracks in evolution theory, and throws a major "what if" into the mix.
I kept turning the page because I was curious where he was going to go. But, on the last page it just didn't come together. Lots of hanging sub-plots were left hanging, characters were weak, etc. The language flows, and it's easy reading, but there are so many better books out there.
