This guy can WRITE! I started this blog with Connelly's The Closers (see June Archives) and I cannot believe how Connelly has adapted to new characters and done an amazing job.
The characters rock - primary characters are flawed human beings who act in noble ways. None of us are perfect; but we all strive to be the best we can be and to do the right thing. Bad guys are indeed VERY bad guys, but Connelly keeps you guessing on who's bad, how sometimes you're bad without intending because you're blinded by other factors, and how sometimes you're just plain, pure evil. This isn't about Harry Bosch, the detective. This is about Mickey Haller - a lawyer who hopes he'll recognize an innocent client when he meets one.
I LOVE this author. Truly treasure him. Stunning writing, stunning pacing, stunning stunning stunning...
